International Conference on Optics Within Life Sciences (OWLS)

This is the 17th in the series of international conferences on Optics Within Life Sciences (OWLS). This will be jointly held with the National Workshop on Fluorescence and Raman Microscopy (FCS XV). The OWLS society (owls-society.org) was founded at the International Commission on Optics-15 Congress in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1990. The bi-annual OWLS conference has been held regularly since (except for the Covid year, 2020) in different parts of the world. The last conference (OWLS-16) was held in Dresden, Germany (5-9 September, 2022) together with ICO-25 (ico25.org), while OWLS-15 was held in Rottnest Island near Perth, Australia (25 – 28 November 2018).

MIHIR CHOWDHURY (MCSF), PicoQuant (PQSF), and R. S. DARYAN Student Fellowship (RSDSF)

One MCSF, one PQSF, and one RSDSF fellowships for students or post docs per year, to cover the cost for presenting one’s work in an international conference.
The MCSF prize will be of INR 100,000, PQSF prize will be of INR 75,000 and RSDSF prize will be INR 50,000, to be paid against receipts of relevant expenses.
The fellowships will be accompanied by certificates, an invitation to give a talk at the next meeting, and adequate mention in the society’s webpage.
The actual money will be disbursed to the fellow’s bank account, against actual receipts. Travel, registration, visa fees, travel insurance, accommodation, food, connected travel to other labs nearby, and any other legitimate expenses will qualify.
The student should be a member of the society.
Selection Procedure: Selection will be done in FCS XV meeting, based on the presentation (poster). Any Indian citizen working in an Indian institute should be eligible.

Topics

All applications of light to biological and clinical systems. It covers, but is not limited to, all aspects of spectroscopy, microscopy, modulation and light-based treatments.
